Our story begins with a deep-rooted connection to this land, where childhood dreams were born and generations of our family have found comfort and belonging. From building forts in the trees to mixing potions from mud and meadow water, the magic of French Lake has woven itself into the fabric of our lives.
It was in 1969 that fate intervened as Laura, with her military family, found herself posted and attending Oromocto High School. It was here that she crossed paths with Blaine, a true country boy, born and raised within the meadows of french lake. Captivated by Laura's remarkable presence, their love story unfolded against the backdrop of French Lake, where they discovered an abandoned piece of land—a sanctuary where they could escape the world's cares. Little did they know, this land would become more significant to their lives than they could have ever imagined. In 1972, they exchanged vows, laying the foundation for a family and a future together.
As time passed the once vacant piece of land where they fell in love became a campground, passing through various hands until Laura and Blaine seized the opportunity to take over the park In 2010. Over the course of 14 years, they nurtured the park, transforming it into a haven where visitors could forge their own connections with nature and create cherished memories.
Now, in the present day, their granddaughter Danica and her fiancé Dalton are stepping into this legacy of love. Drawn back to the enchanting landscapes of their childhood, Danica and Dalton are ready to continue the family business. With a renewed sense of purpose and vision, they are ready to carry forward the inspiring legacy of Sunbury Oromocto Park and Campground into the next chapter.
